Featured is a beautiful, prone, 3D Devonian trilobite, Odontochile
syncramma, collected from the famous Bois d’Arc Formation in Clarita,
Oklahoma. This dalmanitid’s faceted eyes are nicely preserved.
The specimen is complete. The genal spines, the pygidial spine,
and the cephalic processes are present. The only flaws are the line
where the specimen was split in half and reattached, and a small piece
of shell missing from the right thorax, that appears to have separated
from the pygidium prior to fossilization..
This specimen was obtained from an old collection. I reprepped the
specimen to clean out the grooves and smooth out the matrix. This is a
very fine piece!
